Utility Station at UC Berkeley

Completion/ 2014

Location/ Berkeley, California

With GLS as prime architect coordinating a variety of stakeholders, this complex project included site planning and design for a two-story concrete building to house utilities serving a newly renovated football stadium.

Working within the budget constraints of a utilitarian building, GLS created a 2000-square-foot structure that complements and yet recedes into its surroundings, which include a roadway, a residence hall, and multi-use paths. GLS is also responsible for the site’s landscape design, which further helps the facility nestle up to theĀ gentle hillside.
