Christie Park Extension & Christie Avenue Affordable Housing Project
July 22, 2023 – GLS is working with EAH Housing and David Baker Architects on designing an affordable housing development at 5890-6150 Christie Avenue close to the city’s Amtrak Station, with a 6,000-square-foot expansion of the adjacent Christie Park.
Located in the city of Emeryville, the project will replace a vacant lot, surface parking, and three low-slung structures along Christie Avenue between Christie Park, Shellmound Way, and the Public Market Emeryville. Construction is expected to last around three years, starting as early as 2025. The City of Emeryville has earmarked nearly $24 million to support, with additional funding expected to come from a federal tax credit.
