Charles Bennett, RA

Charles Bennett is a Licensed Architect with more than twelve years of experience spanning architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design.

Since 2019, he has been a key team member at GLS Landscape | Architecture, partnering with local and international design teams to craft creative solutions that merge natural landscapes with the built environment. Educated at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) with a Bachelor of Architectural Science, Charles brings a global perspective shaped by earlier work in China, Vietnam, and Canada, and a practice that rethinks conventions while integrating emerging technologies into the design process.

At GLS, his contributions include the San Francisco waterfront development at Mission Rock, the Sister Lillian Murphy Community, UC Berkeley’s Bakar ClimatEnginuity Hub, security improvements for UC Berkeley Residence Halls Units 2 & 3, the renewal of UC Berkeley’s Chou Hall, and UC Merced’s Promise Housing—projects that reflect his focus on resilient, human‑centered environments where site, program, and ecology are synthesized into cohesive place‑making.
