Dean has been a member of GLS since 2004. In that time, he has amassed significant experience in bringing master planning work to completion.
His work on the 22 acre Hunters View renovation, with Phase 1 and Phase 2 complete, won a national ASLA award for Planning in 2012. He has also designed and managed major civic projects including the renovation of Lincoln High School in San Francisco, the renovation of Martin Luther King, Jr. Park in Richmond, and renovations to Oppenheimer Way on the UC Berkeley campus. Additional projects include the Campbell Hall replacement at UC Berkeley, the new courthouse in Yuba City, and almost a dozen multi-family housing sites throughout San Francisco. He also worked on master planning and schematic design for the renovation of the 6 acre UC Extension campus at Laguna Hill in San Francisco’s Lower Haight.
Dean has bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and landscape architecture from the University of Georgia. Prior to GLS, Dean was employed for 8 years at in San Francisco’s Robert Mowat Associates, working on single family residential projects and many Bay Area park renovations. Before moving to California, he worked as a high school math teacher in Georgia, where he was born and raised.
