Justin Richardson, ASLA, PLA

Justin Richardson has been a vital member of the GLS team since early 2021, holding a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.

He has contributed to projects such as the Winchester Transit Center Housing, 730 Stanyan, and Rebuild Potrero Block B, and previously spent six years at Cliff Lowe Associates.

Problem solving in dynamic conditions is a favorite aspect of his work. He is also inspired by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh’s perspective: “the world is not a problem to be solved; it is a living being to which we belong.” Designing in the public realm and addressing environmental justice bring him fulfillment. Passionate about horticulture, public space, and advancing social equity, Justin actively volunteers with community organizations. He resides in Oakland, where he bikes daily, makes music weekly, and volunteers at local parks monthly.
